Fully Lord

He is Lord, He is Lord!He is risen from the dead and he is Lord!Ev'ry knee shall bow, ev'ry tongue confessThat Jesus Christ is Lord.

Written by Steve Vest, 1969

The lyrics above were written to convey the fact that Jesus is the Lord of everything! And while some do not believe it (that is certainly their right), those who follow Jesus sing it heartily, with conviction. But are you really convinced? Is Jesus the Lord of your life?

J. Wilbur Chapman once wrote that when Queen Elizabeth ascended to the throne, she went, as is the custom of Royalty, to hear The Messiah rendered. She had been instructed that she must not rise when the others stood at the singing of the Hallelujah Chorus. When that magnificent chorus was being sung and the singers were shouting "Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth," it was hard for her to stay seated. It seemed as if she would rise in spite of the custom of kings and queens, but she sat. Finally, when they came to that part of the chorus where with a shout they proclaim Him King of kings, suddenly the young queen rose and stood with bowed head, as if she would take her own crown from off her head and cast it at His feet!

What happened? Royalty met True Royalty! The Queen realized that she was in the presence of the only One who was greater than herself, Jesus the Christ, the King of kings and the Lord of lords. And when one makes that realization, when you feel it in your soul, you can’t help but bow in the presence of Royalty.

Jesus Christ is not valued at all until He is valued above all.

– Augustine

The Apostle Paul put it this way…

Therefore God exalted him even more highly    and gave Him the name that is above every other name,10 so that at the name given to Jesus every knee should bend,    in heaven and on earth and under the earth,11 and every tongue should confess that

Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Philippians 2:9-11
